Nationals (34-53) at Cincinnati (40-47)
Last night, the Nationals had a 3-1 lead entering the sixth, but the Reds scored two in the bottom of the inning and two unearned runs in the seventh to win 5-3 and snap a 6-game losing streak to Washington.
Dmitri Young's error, which should've been charged to Jesus Colome, opened the door for Cincinnati, and they walked right through it. Colome fired a ball at Young with 1-out in the seventh and it led to the go-ahead runs.
John Lannan had another good outing, but didn't factor in the decision. The Nationals are 1-3 on their 7-game road trip. Jason Bergmann faces Bronson Arroyo this afternoon.

Kansas City scored seven runs in the 6th inning to rally from four down and beat the Birds, 10-7, to even the four-game series. The Orioles have lost three of five games and are now 24-14 at home on the season. They are 2-2 on this homestand with three to play.

Recent losses, injuries don't overshadow winning June for O's
Posted July 1, 2008 by Amber Theoharis

The Orioles say goodbye to one of their most successful Junes in the past 15 years on a down note. For the 2nd day in a row the ever so dominant closer George Sherrill paid for making a bad pitch, and the Orioles lost a heartbreaker 6-5 to the Royals. It's too bad because Sherrill has been the most reliable pitcher out of the pen for the Orioles; but everybody has rough stretches in a long season. |

Revival of winning attitude, comebacks, wins and sweeps have this year's O's thinking big

It's easy to look at the Orioles' record and see just how different this year's team is from last year's, but it wasn't until last night that I realized how much the overall mentality of the entire club has changed. |
